Avatar is probably going to pick up a load of awards this year. Whether it will win Oscar for best picture or not is anyone's guess, but it will definitely be taking home several Oscars.
For those of us who want a memory of the film what better way than with a bust? Well ok, I personally could do without a bust of any of the male characters, but Neytiri is another matter ..
Film posters can be incredibly creative and artistic. Unfortunately a lot of the poster sites either charge a fortune for the posters themselves or you get caught out on the shipping fees.
The current sale at Poster Gods means you can get a huge selection of posters at rockbottom prices. I'm tempted to grab this one:
Star Wars models are always very popular, but most of the time you end up buying individual products.
This set from Hasbro gives you a nice boost to your collection in one go:
The set comes with: 2x Episode II Starfighter 2x Republic Gunship (Twi'lek Nose Art) 2x ARC-170 Starfighter (Twi'lek Nose Art) 1x Federation ATT Tank 1x AT-OT 1x Republic Cruiser 1x AT-TE 1x Vulture Droid 1x AT-AP
McFarlane have produced some really nice film character models over the last few years.
The Robocop figure below looks really nice:
Unfortunately this particular model isn't being made anymore, but you might find it on ebay (the US site generally has a better choice than the UK site)
While I'd love to be able to afford the real thing, the Aston Martin DBS that featured in Quantum Of Solace is now available as a gorgeous 1:43 scale diecast model.
I have to admit that I've always found Puss 'n Boots from Shrek to be one of the cutest characters to ever grace the silver screen.
Unfortunately if you trek out to Universal Studios in California you won't find much in the way of merchandise featuring him. It's a real pity, as Shrek simply is not cute.
McFarlane produced a very nice Puss 'n Boots figure a few years ago:
I've seen several for sale on eBay, but most of the regular online stockists either don't have any left or are almost sold out. (Entertainment Earth had only one left in stock at time of writing and I'm really tempted to grab it!)
EDIT: The piece on offer via Entertainment Earth would appear to be by a different company and is NOT the McFarlane version, but the Attakus version which is produced by a European company. More details here.
