Roomba Robot Vacuum

If you hate hoovering as much as I do then the Roomba range of robot vacuums could be a God send!

Remember the cleaning robots in films like The Fifth Element? The Roomba may not be as space age, but it does pretty much the same thing.

The iRobot Roomba 560 Vacuum Cleaning Robot features the newest innovations for dramatically improved performance, reliability and durability. On-board scheduling allows you to preset up to seven cleaning times per week for Roomba to clean when it's most convenient for you -- whether you're at home or on the go. Roomba systematically cleans four rooms on a single charge, gets into hard-to-reach areas like wall edges and beneath furniture, avoids stairs and other drop offs and automatically adjusts from carpets to hard floors and back again. Each Virtual Wall® Lighthouse™ (2 included) confines Roomba to one room until the entire floor is vacuumed before Roomba moves on to the next room. When its battery is running low, or when the cleaning is complete, Roomba automatically returns to its self-charging Home Base™ to dock and recharge.

It looks pretty funky as well:

Ipod Sex Toys?

Ipods are cool gadgets and you can get some really nice accessories to go with them, but who would have imagined that someone would come up with an iPod vibrator?

I know I hadn't!

The OhMiBod range of iPod accessories is obviously aimed at cashing in on the design appeal of the iPod:

OhMiBod iPod Adapter And PouchOf course they wouldn't be much good as iPod accessories if they weren't available in a variety of colours, so the makers offer them in several:
ohmibod coloursPretty cool, though obviously I can't make much use of them!

It's also quite versatile:
Two Vibrators in One! OhMiBod measures 7" long (5 1/2" insertable) by 1 1/8" wide
and is molded from premium grade hypoallergenic white non-toxic, non-porous plastic
with chrome finishing...very iPod®esque. Its powerful motor, which softly purrs while
providing intense rhythmic vibrations, is powered by 2 AA batteries. A universal
headphone connector is integrated into the OhMiBod design. In addition to its good
looks, OhMiBod is adaptable. It can easily be converted into a manual mode vibrator by
putting on the special end cap it comes with. OhMiBod is two vibrators in one!

Stick Men Can Be Fun

Someone posted a link to this earlier today and I have to admit I am tempted, though my credit card is a bit too "tired" at the moment:

stickman action figure

It's a movable, posable stickman!

He comes in three parts, namely the figure, a base and a nice big yellow background.

Hours of fun?

I take my coffee quite seriously, so this kind of thing really appeals to me:

coffee travel setIt's a complete espresso coffee travel kit which comes with an electric espresso coffee machine, two mocha cups (ie. small espresso size cups), saucers, spoons and a small pack of Illy coffee (one of the best brands you can get, though it's quite pricey!). And the entire thing comes in a nice little travel bag.

Pretty cool!

The only thing that isn't 100% clear from the product description is whether the electric supply is switchable or not (ie. can you use it in the US as well... ). I suspect it isn't, but it's a pity they don't mention that little detail.

Pricing seems to be around the 220 euro mark, so it's not cheap, but it's not the kind of thing that you'd expect to pick up at rockbottom pricing anyway

When I was younger I lived very close to a hoover clinic in Cork city. The window of the shop was full of hoovers (obviously) including these stubby ones that the makers had decided to "jazz up" with a little face.

Now anyone who works with me knows that my office is a pig sty, though I prefer to refer to it as organised chaos, so it's not that surprising that my keyboard and desk would be covered in crud. (I already mentioned that I was a pig, didn't I?)

If anyone wants to get me one of these computer / desktop hoovers I won't complain, though of course there is no guarantee that I'll actually use it:

Star Wars Webcam

If my Mac didn't have a webcam builtin already then one of these would be sorely tempting:

Star Wars Tie Fighter webcamIt's a fully functional webcam with builtin microphone! Retail price is about £30, but Play are offering it for under £20.

I've never been a fan of watching videos on small screens. I can't honestly see the point. Why would anyone want to watch a full length film on the iPod's tiny screen?

It may be "cool", but it's hardly practical or good for your eyes

I'm probably not the only person to think along these lines, as MyVu Corporation seem to have based their entire business around resolving this one problem - and the solution looks pretty cool

myvu_solo.jpgThe system is pretty self-explanatory and consists of "glasses" and builtin earphones.

I've no idea how good the quality is, but they're available online from $200 a pop!
